Terms and Conditions
This document outlines the Terms and Conditions for all scholarships, bursaries and awards, awarded and administered by the International Transgender Certification Association, inc. (herein referred to as I.T.C.A.).
All scholarships, bursaries and awards will be referred to as ‘scholarships’ herein. By submitting an application for our scholarship, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.
You must read these Terms and Conditions in their entirety before you accept your scholarship offer. When you accept your scholarship, you are agreeing to and accepting these Terms and Conditions and agree to the requirements and conditions of your scholarship.
Students in receipt of scholarship may also be required to sign an individual scholarship agreement. Students must meet all conditions as outlined in the agreement.
All correspondence between applicant and I.T.C.A. will be operated primarily via email, with the option of telephone communication, based on I.T.C.A.’s decision. Any changes to this email address, after submission of application and without necessary cause, may result in cancelation of their application.
Any successful applicant will be required to show proof of Graduate Degree or School Transcript which shows course that they are currently enrolled in or have been accepted to at an accredited university course or commencing studies.
Please note that this program is most applicable to licensed therapists who want to build their practices by working with the Transgender Community and writing letters of recommendation for hormone therapy and surgery. It is also recommended for medical and other healthcare practitioners who see trans people in their clinics and offices. If you are not already a licensed professional, you may still take the program, but please keep in mind that it will not allow you to practice without a license. You will gain valuable knowledge and be able to support the trans community and possibly teach, but there will be limited opportunities to monetize this education through Counseling until your license is obtained.
If awarded, Scholarship recipients are additionally expected to complete the following:
- Entrance interview with one of our I.T.C.A. Board Members
- Completion of the 52-hour Course
- Maintaining attendance in class and be an active participant during course training.
- Completion of 4 hours of Case Consultation with I.T.C.A. Trainers
- 20 hours of Community Service at an Organization supporting the LGBTQ+ Community
All students offered scholarships will receive an official ‘offer’ email offering the funds and must reply either accepting or rejecting this offer within 14 days of receipt.
Failure to respond within this 14-day period may result in the scholarship offer being withdrawn and reassigned. You must accept your scholarship offer by the due date, as instructed in your offer email, to be eligible to receive the scholarship towards your Tuition.
The total value of the Scholarship offered will be outlined in the official offer email. We reserve the right to offer any value of funds, up to the value of half of Tuition cost.
The remaining balance due for the Tuition cost must be made before Certification of Course Completion is awarded. This balance can be paid through a mutually acceptable payment plan until balance is paid in full.
Should the Scholarship recipient change their mind or fail to complete the course, Student will be responsible for any costs to the Program as outlined in the Student Admissions form.
Scholarships are awarded based on established eligibility criteria. You must meet the eligibility requirements to receive your scholarship payment. The eligibility requirements for each scholarship are outlined on our scholarship page of our website.
I.T.C.A.is not responsible for and cannot provide you with financial advice on taxation matters. The information provided here is of a general nature only and does not take into account your individual financial circumstances. If you are enrolled into the Program, your scholarship payment may not be taxed, however I.T.C.A. is not responsible for checking and notifying you of, nor paying any taxation obligations.
Providing false or misleading information is an offence. If I.T.C.A. knows or has reason to believe that you have provided false or misleading information, I.T.C.A. may reassess your entitlement to the scholarship and you will be liable to re-pay to I.T.C.A. the total sum of any payments incorrectly made to you.
I.T.C.A. reserves the right to cancel the Scholarship program at any point. I.T.C.A. reserves the right to share your application with any company affiliates, including personal information such as your email address.
